Description
A garbage truck (too dark to see signage) just huffed and puffed its noisy way down Bishop toward State. Such noise at such an early hour!! It then turned around and headed back down Bishop toward Orange, grinding and groaning all the way. Isn't there a noise ordinance in place to prevent this?

Hi. I've complained to the alderman, the garbage collector's and seeclickfix on this issue for 5 years. I live on Clark Street and the garbage and recycle collector's come at 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the morning. They do this EVERY MORNING since my place is surrounded by restaurants and bars. After a neighbor took my story to News 8 a few years ago, the problem stopped for a bit, then it picked up again once the collector's figured the heat had died down.
For your information, there is a noise ordinance and it ends at 7am, so what the garbage collector's are doing is breaking that ordinance. The city didn't take notice of my complaints and the alderman didn't get anything done, News 8 did. People like to say 'you live in a city, you should expect it blah, blah, blah.' That's just a non-argument used by folks who don't like the pesky task of thinking.

Clickfix is not a venting mechanism but one where real problems get resolved.
Your problem is something a good therapist could help you with: personal accountability for choices we make.

This is not a blog but a place for fixable issues I.e. Street light out, potholes, to be fixed.
I am retired and have plenty of time to close issues that bog down the process. Now when I see Clickfix in email I want to delete without reading.
Stop the tantrums.

Does anyone really believe that Public Works is going to acknowledge this ticket for one self-important street?
This not a Blog; pick up the phone or stop by their office on Middletown Ave and speak with a Supervisor. Too many PhDs on that street.
Be happy you are 1st so your garbage does not marinate in the heat of the Sun.

Have you tried calling or visiting Public Works office.
Very tired of these stupid alerts for this non-problem.

Ridiculous. These people really assume the city needs to rework it's refuse collection schedule to suit their sleep schedules...
Cities are noisy. Try Bethany if you crave quiet.
And +1 Skyemoon for speaking common sense to all of this privileged whining.
