I hope you never need a testosterone piece of crap punk cop come to your aid in an emergency. Based on your commentary, you need to examine your bias towards these men. A few who err do not make up the majority of public servants.

So....you're mad at NHPD because...let me understand this. You "tapped" another car and didn't even give that person the courtesy of checking for damage which was all witnessed by NHPD. I'd say you're upset because you got caught this time. Can't imagine how many other times you've done this. The language and professionalism of the officer could've been better, but come on! He witnessed you backing up into another car and trying to leave. That's totally wrong on your part. Just because you're "white", that's nothing funny to joke about. Show some professionalism yourself.

New Haven's finest absolutely did the right thing by holding your husband accountable. When a driver BUMPs someone else's BUMPer, potentially causing damage to someone else's PROPERty, the PROPER thing to do is check to see if any damage has been caused. And what warranted calling the cop a "punk" and a "testosterone-driven piece of crap"? He informed your husband of the potential consequences of leaving the scene of an accident and told him to be careful (dude). Oh, did you call the officer names (behind his back, by the way) because your husband was being held accountable for his actions? Your husband accepted responsibility and apologized. From your own "W.T.F." reporting, you're the punk whose behavior (and attitude) needs some SERIOUS rehabilitation. And calling attention to your husband's whiteness while describing a police encounter shows your own implicit (or even explicit) bias. You need to work that out.

Are you kidding me? It doesn't matter if it was just a bump, he still HIT another car. Damage or not, leaving without checking for damage is illegal. Even a slight bump can leave a dent and or a scratch; how would you feel if you spent your hard earned money and you came out of your "nice evening" to find some jerk had hit your car and just left ????

Since it was night time, how are you so sure that there was no damage? The responsible, ADULT thing to do would be to leave a note explaining what happened with a phone number. As well as take a picture of the area he hit, for your records.

BTW, sweetheart... there will probably be damage to your car. Didn't think of that, did you? Go out and look at the car in broad daylight. There will most likely be paint from the car he hit on the bumper, scratches, maybe a dent. Maybe that is not a big deal to you, but those scratches turn to rust if not fixed. How does it feel to spend your hard earned money to fix something that may cost a few hundred (or a thousand, depending on the car) to repair? Unless you like driving a dented, scratched car.
